Britain's oldest married couple who have been wed for 77 years may have received an anniversary hamper as a present. The couple tied the knot in 1933 after an eleven-year courtship and said the secret to a good marriage is "getting along with each other". Phyllis Tarrant - who is 101 - and 107-year-old Ralph noted they still go shopping on a regular basis, exercise and make sure they follow a healthy diet. "We've had a nice anniversary too with some beautiful flowers, which was a nice surprise," Mr Tarrant remarked. And he explained the duo are still independent and visit lunch clubs to socialise with friends. The pair have two daughters, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, with another expected. And they have one great-grandchild as well. Those lucky enough to receive a chocolate gift hamper may be interested to hear the foodstuff has many health benefits. Recent research conducted by staff at the University of Adelaide in Australia commented eating dark chocolate can result in lower blood pressure for those who suffer with hypertension.
