Pamper hamper lovers may be keen to try out this season's makeup trends and stay ahead of the fashion pack this winter.

Creative director at Colour Me Beautiful Veronique Henderson explained how the latest trend is "all about the eyes", with ladies advised to focus on their eyes and keep their lips low-key.

Those who are confident with colour were encouraged to experiment with "peacock eyes", which combine blue, green and purple tones with metallic silver, gold and bronze.

"If you're not confident with colour or are a more mature lady then you can give the same impression by carefully layering the current colours in your palette," Ms Henderson recommended.

To create the affect, the beauty expert advised ladies to begin by using a highlighter across the lid and then using an eye-pencil followed by an accent colour and finally blending the shades.

Women who would prefer to accentuate a bold lip were advised that matching tones in brighter shades to those used on the eyes is a great way to highlight the mouth and still combine some colour in the eyes.
