A birthday hamper may be enjoyed by a grandmother from Watford who describes herself as one of the original 'hello girls'.
Hilda Smith was speaking to the Watford Observer before celebrating her 100th birthday on Saturday (June 19th).
According to the paper, Mrs Smith was the youngest of three sisters and attended St Andrew's School between the ages of three and 13, before she left school to work in a perfume factory.
She met her husband Leslie Smith in Watford and the pair married at Bushey Baptist church in 1935.
Mrs Smith reflected on her 100 years and told the paper: "I have been granted good health so I have been lucky in that way."
She plans to enjoy the day with her family and a gift hamper could help to enhance her enjoyment.
Recently a couple who are thought to be the longest-married pair in Scotland celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary.
