A birthday hamper may have been an ideal gift for Sir Tom Jones, who turned 70 yesterday (June 7th). The Welshman celebrated his birthday by previewing tracks from his new album to a small crowd in Mayfair. However, according to the Press Association, the silver-haired singer isn't feeling his age and revealed to Absolute Radio Hometime DJ Geoff Lloyd that he feels younger than he looks. Sir Tom said: "I don't recognise myself very often, because I don't feel as old as I look." He stated it is only when he catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror that he thinks: "Who's that old fella in there?" The BBC had planned to celebrate Sir Tom's birthday by getting people from all across Wales to recreate the hit song Delilah. However, the project was never aired due to the death of fellow Welsh musician Stuart Cable. Reaching the age of 70 doesn't appear to be stopping the star from travelling the globe, as he heads off for a summer tour to Las Vegas in August.
