Friends and family of Billie Piper and husband Laurence Fox could send the couple baby hampers soon after the actress revealed she is expecting another child.

The star is 15 weeks pregnant and broke the news to Michael Attenborough, artistic chief at the Almeida Theatre.

She is due to perform in Neil LaBute's play Reasons to Be Pretty at the venue next month and was worried about how the news would affect her role in the production.

Mr Attenborough told the Daily Mail that she had offered to withdraw from the show but that this idea was turned down, with the script being rewritten to accommodate her pregnancy.

"She was Neil LaBute's and my first choice for the part - and fortunately the character is pregnant - so with a bit of judicious re-writing we're all delighted she'll be with us," he added.

Piper is the latest celebrity to reveal she is pregnant, with Stacey Solomon and Hilary Duff both announcing the same news recently.
