It may not be long before friends and family are buying baby hampers for Prince William and Kate Middleton.

According to Now magazine, the thoughts of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are turning to parenthood, nearly six months after their wedding.

A source told the publication William "can't wait" for his wife to get pregnant and he has plans for them to indulge themselves when she is, buying "sticky toffee pudding by the truckload".

"They feel ready," the insider added. "Kate's read dozens of books on the subject and knows she needs to take care of her health."

Among the celebrities to have revealed she is pregnant recently is Hilary Duff, the singer and actress having broken the news in August.

And baby hampers could be on the way to her and ice hockey player husband Mike Comrie after she used an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to confirm they are expecting a boy.
