Friends and family of Jessica Simpson can begin preparations for sending baby hampers to the star after she confirmed she is expecting a child.
Rumours have been flying for weeks that the singer was pregnant but she has remained tight-lipped about the whole thing until now.
The 31-year-old took to her personal website to announce the news.
She posted a picture of herself in a Halloween costume cradling her bump and revealed: "It's true, I'm going to be a mummy."
The baby will be the first for Simpson and her fiance - former NFL player Eric Johnson.
Gynaecologist Dave David recently told RadarOnline that there was little doubt the actress and TV personality was with child.
He stated that the shape of her bump was evidence she was pregnant, claiming that weight gain was out of the question.
"Her belly wouldn't be that rounded if it was just fat," Mr David said.
