Wine hamper fans may be interested to hear the comments made by one expert on what wine to drink when having a barbecue.
In an article for the Daily Telegraph, Susy Atkins recommended wine lovers choose semillons, chenin blanc and chardonnays when looking for a beverage to accompany grilled food.
She said these styles go well with chicken, pork, salmon and vegetable kebabs and explained they are even a suitable accompaniment for dressings and sauces.
"The only moments I'd pick a lighter white are for sardines or prawns. Here a wine with crisper acidity is needed. Portugal's vinho verde can be a stunning partner for sardines," she added.
Ms Atkins urged individuals to steer clear of light wines, especially Italian brands, as these can have a "sweet-and-sour" effect when drunk alongside certain provisions.
The Associacao Portuguesa de Cortica recently launched a campaign to encourage those who enjoy a glass of fine wine to choose bottles that feature natural cork tops in order to help the environment.
