Fans of gift hampers might be pleased to know that cheese-chasing has been picked up in New Zealand.
The region of Eltham held its first annual event on Saturday (March 27th), stuff.co.nz reports.
Organiser Shaun McCarthy - who wore a yellow catsuit to mark the occasion - was pleased that the event passed with nobody gaining any serious injuries.
"That was quite amazing and quite fortuitous," he said after the festivities.
A 12kg round of triple-wrapped Gouda was the item the contestants were chasing, with Daniel Gut being victorious in the men's event and Erena Hillman successful in the women's.
The dairy produce was rolled down the hill by South Taranaki district councillor Alex Ballantyne.
Earlier in the month, it was revealed that the annual cheese-rolling event in Gloucestershire this year has been cancelled due to safety fears, after 15,000 came to watch the spectacle at Cooper's Hill near Brockworth in 2009.
